The Wild Mouse and the scalded cat

A very pleasant couple of hours spent this afternoon on Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I was reminded yesterday both that the weekend is a bank holiday weekend and following that it is the schools half term so I decided now would be a good time to get in a few rides.

It was very quiet today, you could walk on and off anything so the first thing I did was to get a couple of rides on The Big One. Following that I rode the Skyforce Red Arrows ride managing to flip the gondola five times or so and then straightened up because I was beginning to feel giddy. Up until now I had managed three flips but now I'm really getting the hang of it. I rode the Nickelodeon Streak and then went for a coffee and biscuits.

After that I decided to make my way to the exit but passing the Wild Mouse I saw that was running so couldn't resist it. I have never been on it when its moved so fast although its always a wild ride but I think today it was being pursued by a scolding cat and for once I could have done with somebody else in the car with me to help wedge me in not something I normally bother about. A great ride for all that though. Then a final ride on the Space Shot before leaving the park just before 17:00 when it was closing anyway.

The thing that I most like about having a season pass is you don't feel you have to ride everything, you just stroll around, ride what takes your mood during that visit and go when you've had enough. Also it's probably the best exercises that I can get with a half hour walk both ways, Walking around the park and climbing up slopes and stairways where necessary.
